No August, it's not idiotic to check out this very suspicious murder and tape and come to your own conclusions. I got a gut feeling the other day that something was very wrong with the Berg picture.

For one thing, he and his father seem to be anti-Bush leftwing radicals but now Ashcroft denies it. Number two, Berg was in US custody but now the FBI denies it. Number three, Bushies claim Berg refused a free trip home. Berg's family denies that's possible. Number four, if you study the tape you'll find many strange suspicious elements to it, including Berg wearing a US prison jumpsuit sitting on the exact same chair type Lyddie England was sitting on.

Also, what the hell was Berg doing alone in Iraq after being a 9-11 connection suspect on the FBI list? What's with his Islamic beard and calm attitude? What's with rightwing conservatives putting his father on an enemy's list?

There is a lot more to it. Very confusing and strange details and contradictory timelines, yet Bush instantly knows it's so and so from Al Qauda, even though that Al Qaida leader is supposed to have an amputated leg and the killer in the picture clearly doesn't.

This the most self-serving conclusion Bush could possible draw and there is no conclusive evidence to back it up:

MEQUON, Wis. (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday blamed al Qaeda supporter Abu Musab al-Zarqawi for beheading American Nicholas Berg and cited him as an example of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s "terrorist ties" before the U.S.-led war in Iraq (news - web sites).
