I read the piece. Hersh trys to tie Rummy directly to the six privates. Ain't gonna work, except among the tinfoil hat crowd. "LGF" The Gray Zone Well, here’s Seymour Hersh’s latest hit piece, newyorker.com impressively documented with names, dates, and places: The Gray Zone. Some of it may even be true. Hersh says the Abu Ghraib prison scandal is going to lead to another Church Commission—and as one of the prime driving forces making this happen, he should know. The Church Commission was a highly-publicized investigation into CIA abuses that opened the door for the essential gutting of the CIA’s effectiveness, some say leading to the intelligence failures that created the conditions for 9/11. Seymour Hersh seems to take great delight in being part of another such media-driven meltdown. In the midst of a war. But you can tell that none of the people quoted in this article—revealing the inner workings of Pentagon intelligence strategies—really believe we’re in a war at all.
