So you're worried about your child, that's natural.. But what about other people's children, yet to come to adulthood, who will have to fight this battle 10-20 years from on an even greater scale?

What about your grandchildren?

Listen, I've laid out the scenario for you to accept or reject.. If you think you can alter demographic and economic reality in the Mid-East, then have at it.

But selfish feelings of trying to protect your own right now, only to require far more parents to have to sacrifice their children 10 years from now is hardly something I could be proud of.

I think you can help those who are willing to help themselves. The fact is that those Iraqis who say they "want" democracy have done damn little to show they want it enough to fight for it.

Yeah.. and exactly how did your children help you in taking care of them for the first couple of years of their lives?

The Iraqis have been through 30 years of institutionalized terror and governmental dependency. They are no different than prisoners, having been incarcerated for 30 years and being told what to do and when they are permitted to do it, often punished for no reason, and suddenly thrust back in the "real world" and told to make it on their own.

You bet they are confused and indecisive. And that's why they need the rest of the world to rehabilitate them and educate their children to take over and create a new society.
