Right on Chris,
I save water like gold in my own little environment. When I change the water in my little home-made, rock, bird baths, I catch the old in five gallon buckets and carry it out to outlying trees in this upscale neighborhood..
All the while, within a quarter of a mile of a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, they waste water by the acre-feet where hardly anyone plays.. But they have no compunction about taking so much, more than their share I might add, from a little, once pristine creek..
A creek, along which we used to hike, run and bike, etc. But now they fenced it off.. :(
I used to play a little golf.. Actually I was quite good at it... Anybody that could swing an axe and hit the same spot should be good. <g>
But early on, I realized the environmental impact and just quit.. Just on my own principles.. Although I kind of liked it.. <g>
So, it (golf) is just another little episode in my life long gathering of experiences that galvanize my values.
