Yo Phil,

Re: There are few socialists left (pun intended).

But there are some excellent ones:

And they are pointing out that Fascism is all the fashion among the fools and failures in the Democratic Surrender:

They used to be a Party. Now they are a Fraud.

Re: As I see it, checks and balances have been eroded in the mad drive to support and expand business at any cost.

Not exactly. It is criminal enterprises, like the White House, that are thriving in this climate of laisse faire unfairness.

Re: I used to think the theory of competition was a good one and part of the checks and balances on business.

We all guess wrong from time to time. Successful people learn that the game today is a fraud.

Re: Even the Socialists have thrown in the towel.

Not me. I've tried to get one of the Halliburton monogrammed towels from the Mosul Military R&R Jock Club. But to no avail. I'd like to throw it in, but it is unavailable to civilians. Especially, those labeled weisenheimers.

Re: There is no alternative....no vision.

Let's think about this for a second, shall we. We have Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina resisting George Bush's will very strongly. Mexico, CARICOM, the EU, the African Union, China, ASEAN, FSU and Costa Rica are expressing zero support for Bush. The UK is riven with division, as is Australia, New Zealand and the UN Security Council. While the UN General Assembly is extremely hostile, en toto, to George Bush and Bush's boss Ariel Sharon.

So what do you mean there is no hostility to George Bush in this world? Do you need to have better reading habits? Are you a corporate media regurgitator?
