In my earlier post if you had the slightest clue what I was talking about

Here is an excerpt of what you said:

Also, recent prison abuse worries me in a different way. This sets a bad precedent. In the future this type of yellow journalism (Dan Rather and CBS) can be used to destabilize any strategic force. In this case it is US army suffering. These types of dirty tricks can be used by the journalists more in the future and where does it end? Maybe its time to scrap the first amendment or at least until the war is over.

My hypothetical scenario, which I fully intended should strike a nerve, said this:

When Bangla Desh was seceding from Pakistan there were allegations of atrocities by Pakistani soldiers against the people in your country. Now suppose these soldiers had raped and sodomized your wife, sisters and mother and had stripped naked you, your brothers and father and forced you to simulate sexual acts and masturbate and they were taking pictures as this was going on, would you have wanted it all to be hushed up? Would you have felt that if the Pakistani media had chosen to publicize this sort of barbarism so that the world could know what had been happening, that the media were being unpatriotic or disloyal to Pakistan? If you would have felt that the first duty of the media in such a situation would be to suppress the information lest the Pakistani war effort be jeopardized, I would disagree with you but at least you are being consistent.

Now, you may not have to prove anything to anyone but when you spew out a load of drivel on a public forum, you should expect others who participate on the forum to respond. This should not be difficult to comprehend even for someone as obtuse as you are. If the forum permits the use of pseudonyms, then all of your protestations about people choosing to use a pseudonym are nonsensical.

Oh, if my use of a graphic hypothetical bothered you - where I cited the same thing happening to you, your wife, your parents, your siblings and I should have included your children - don't lose sight of the fact that those Iraqi detainees who were abused and tortured may well have been someone else's parent, sibling, spouse or child.

If you should ever decide to use a pseudonym, here is one that would be eminently suited to you: "freaking schmuck" - unless, of course, that is what "Soumen Barua" means in your language in which case your parents should be congratulated for having named you so appropriately!
