The bill is designed to protect citizens from a bioterror attack. The three areas the bill addresses are research and development, procurement and stockpiling, and emergency access. signonsandiego.com Several San Diego County biotechs will be watching the Senate this week anticipating the passage of Project Bioshield, a $5.6 billion initiative that would put federal funds aside to buy and stockpile drugs that would counter the effects of a bioterrorist attack.
