The UN reported: "A total of 497 Palestinians were killed in the course of the IDF reoccupation of Palestinian area A from 1 March to 7 May 2002 and in the immediate aftermath." un.org For many days after the massacre, Israel blocked the UN from entering, so there is no telling what else was covered up during that time.
