We're Up, They're Down. Keep It That Way!
<FROM THE KERRY CAMPAIGN>
George Bush and Dick Cheney have spent $70 million on ads, almost double John Kerry. Yet we're up, and they're down in nearly every poll. All of this money has been spent in the twenty swing states that will decide the 2004 election.
Just because we're up, we can't pat ourselves on the back and wait for Election Day. It seems everyday George Bush flips a coin. Heads he distorts John Kerry's record, tails he misleads America about his own. Day in, day out, those attacks take their toll.
But we have three powerful weapons: the truth, John Kerry's lifetime of strength and service, and you -- our online supporters who have allowed us to hold our own on the airwaves against Bush's negative and misleading ads.
Help us make a "Miracle in May" -- keep the ball rolling and make a secure contribution now:

I want to give you, as a key supporter, an update on where things stand. Recent polls draw a clear picture: we're leading, but locked in a head-to-head battle. Most likely, it will be that way from now through Election Day.
Some Figures That Should Alarm George Bush:
A month ago on April 18th, Bush led by five points in the polls. Now, $70 million in misleading ads later, John Kerry is up by five points (51-46). Even more amazing is that polling among swing state voters shows John Kerry leading there as well. George Bush's approval rating is at an all time low of 42%, and 58% of Americans disapprove of George Bush's handling of Iraq.
George Bush's cynical attacks seem to backfire against John Kerry's positive message in the ads our online donors funded. Our campaign is making substantial progress and George Bush's campaign is in big trouble. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
We've Got To Keep This Up:
We're going to have to compete in more places over a longer period of time than in any Presidental race. We can't let up until November 2nd. Only your strong grassroots support can provide John Kerry with the resources to keep competing for every vote in every swing state.
Hang in there and keep working. Together, we'll win.
Thank you,
Mary Beth Cahill Campaign Manager, John Kerry for President
P.S. Here's the national polling data I mentioned earlier:
National Polls Show Kerry Well Positioned to Beat Bush
Poll after poll conducted in the last several weeks show John Kerry more than holding his ground as the race remains extremely tight, despite huge Bush spending on ads.
