Yes there are men there. But it is a small force, and the proper amount of forces were not directed to Afghanistan at the proper time.

Timing in battle is critical. You need to strike while the enemy is off balance. We failed to do that...in fact we know that most of the Al Qaeda terrorists have fled the country...there was ample time to do that and with porous borders which allowed a free ticket out of harms way.

The situation in Afghanistan is now a war against remnant Taliban and war lords. Al Qaeda has flown the coop.
