and we are back to the original problem. Israel will not and should not take it when someone is fireing at the civilians from arab houses. And since arab police does not take any action there are to choices left:
a) fire back and kill a lot of civilians
b) destroy those houses without killing any civilians
Note that Geneva Convention is ok with a) but which one would you choose?

as far as underdogs then look at the size of Israel and the size of its enemies. For every jew there are more than a hundred arabs supported by 1.2 billion muslims.
