Aircraft designers are building engines and airplanes that are 33% more efficient. It will take time to get the old ones out of service, which we do by selling them to countries just beginning to progress. The driving force for change is fuel prices, economy has not been a selling point for cars, it will be someday. It should sink in to the public at about what price? $5/gal ?.
