why is the value of the dinar holding steady against the dollar?

I would assume that the US Government and US-funded contractors are buying a fair number of dinars to fund local operations. That would provide some artificial support.

I see no evidence to suggest that things are going well. If I saw some evidence that some political leadership was developing that had support among all three, or even two, of the major groups, I'd be happier. If I saw any evidence that secular leadership is emerging among the Shiites, I'd be happier. I don't see those things.
