Frank, this is terrible, but I am laughing due to your description. The worst that has happened to my car in the drive way is a big dent. Last year lightning struck a big tree in my backyard and got split in half, missed the house by inches. My wife does not like lightning and I always tell her don't worry about it, so that incidence did not help to make her feel better about lightning. Was the limb close to your house.
