I think this is not unusual for SFE. I seem to recall reading about this in reports on others that they control part of the stock. The offering usually made to give investors stake in company . Many times their isn't an immediate need for the funds raised. Thus the loan to SFE. Sorry I can't be more specific, but it has been a while since I read about this. Probably mentioned in 10qs filed by Sanchez if you want to get better insight into the management of cash.
