It's an inclusion argument which right wing types deliberately and misleadingly restated it as an exclusion argument.

"Chicken and egg," John. When you push a new one in, you push the other out. Of course, no one says, "Lets not teach dead white males." That is a slang expression for shoving world culture in to the point where the guts of American history gets lost.
