"Over the weekend, hundreds of thousands of Israelis marched in Tel Aviv.......apparently, they agree with me that things are screwed up under the Sharon gov't."

The protest was in support of Sharon's efforts to get out of Gaza.

It was more than that........they want peace and not the constant chaos that Sharon has brought to Israel.

Look, as long as the PA uses terror Israelis will keep electing Sharon. That's what got him elected in the first place.

Another theorem from economics [in addition to logical fallacy]...........the person who has the most to lose has to be smarter......his marginal value is higher than someone's who has nothing to lose.

The Israelis are increasingly in great danger of losing more than they care to lose.......and they have a lot to lose. The Palestinians have very little to lose and a great deal to gain. There is no reason why they would or should stop their tactics, no matter how much hang wringing it generates among the Israelis and Americans. In fact, its in their best interest to escalate their tactics. In addition, demographics are badly against the Israelis.

Israel is heading for an even bigger disaster than we face in the ME. They essentially are a Jewish island in an Arab sea.........we at least have thousands of miles between us.
Their superior military power eventually will be neutralized.

In addition, I don't believe American support will continue indefinitely no matter how powerful the Jewish American lobby is. Slowly but surely, Americans are being forced to be smarter about ME politics........and the more they learn, the less they will like of Israel's posture. Its very likely they will take the same turn as I have over the past three years.

The writing is very much on the wall. Israel needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Like Zonder said, Israel best start playing nice nice........sooner rather than later. The days of Ariel Sharon and the settlers are over.
