Plan to China: HK to pay pizza I lost to Jay. Show my daughter Great Chinese Wall and Gran Prix Formula One. Hope to at least make two of them this year.
Interesting life? Ask my wife! She found interesting in the beginning, today she has chnaged her mind. I think is wonderful for my daughter.
I want her to live as much as possible together with people of other cultures. Being culture whatever kid she may meet at school that she is changing every year.
Than she's got to have contact with all those different languages. And know that moving about, and change is a fact of life. And never learn only the mother tongue and stick to it.
The mind draws from the environment. And is directed by the language we talk and use to think with.
Our thinking processes are direct connected to the language we talk. What makes a German a German is the German language. What makes a Sweden a Sweden is the Swedish language. The closest the languages are, the similar the people who talk them think. Hence the Scandinavians can be put inside a single bucket. Not by a history or politics, but by the languages they speak, which is what make their brains tick similarly.
Can do the same with North Americans, Australians Canadians, and New Zealand. They are "flour of the same sack" because they speak the same language. No mater you make them into: Yankees, Canucks, Aussies or Kiwis. They are Anglos. If you make past, bread, donuts out of flour, is all carbohydrates!!
I don't want her to think like a Brazilian. Portuguese is good for Samba,. Paulo Coelho writes wonderful books and Vinicius de Moraes and Machado de Assis were good writers. But Portuguese language is not good for thinking.
Notice how I always take a different approach than anybody else to whatever we discuss in SI? This is the result of a Brazil trained brain in Portuguese for 30 years and metamorphed into English for the last 20. |
