Joe - It looks like Opteron opened a pretty big lead in SpecInt rate, 2 processor system: Sorry, as usual AMD's benchmarks are crafted to mislead. The truth is that Opteron loses to Xeon. In fact Xeon posts the highest score of all! Opteron comes in at 5th or 3rd place depending on whether you use base or peak. Opteron loses in either case to Xeon. AMD just compares Opteron with a slow Xeon and hopes you won't notice (you didn't). Why don't you try looking at the SPEC website rather than relying on AMD's old (2003) deceptive misleading website? Use your aceshardware link and click off the CPU box so you see all the results. It's even worse for 2-way base scores. In 4-way Opteron falls to 8th place. For FP click off CPU box again and you'll see Opteron comes in at 13th place. Go to 4-way and it gets even worse. Opteron falls off the chart.
