This morning on CSPAN, Peter Galbraith explained his contention that Iraq should be and probably will be a three state monarchy.
The Kurds in the North have been independent for YEARS... Saddam gave them up after they kept whipping his ass.
The Southern portion of Iraq should be the second state, run by the Shiites. (sp)
The triangle (Bagdad) is the third, moderated by a mixture of the three (Bathists also)
He explained it so well, as Monarchy's WORK!
Austria and Hungary as 2 examples.
He went on to say we should not expect the American model to ever work, at least for a long, long time.
(Like we should understand that concept)

If we went to our model of democracy the Shiites would dominate the entire area, and than they go boom boom again.

A very compelling man Mr. Galbraith. Guess you know his father.
