Well, I grant you that the media-military complex is real, alive and kicking but, beyond the US industries directly benefitting from military expenditures, I don't see much payoff for Corporate America as a whole. I mean, do you think that the fast-deteriorating image of the US worldwide is any good for US corporations? Take Coca-Cola Co.: the Arab/Muslim world (1.2 billion people) is a fantastic market for non-alcoholic beverages, hence Coca-Cola should make zillions of $ out of it. Yet, because of the US's anti-Muslim crusading, dozens of "alternative Cokes" have popped up everywhere: Mecca Cola, Muslim Cola,... the latest: Corsica Cola (in France). More generally, US brands will have a harder time selling abroad if people will associate them with the US bully....
