What am I mising here? Does AMD even have the ability to outproduce INTC?

For the first time in recent memory, desktop computers built with AMD chips outsold those based on processors from archrival Intel (INTC ), 52% to 47%, according to research by Current Analysis of La Jolla, Calif. "It speaks volumes that AMD is O.K. with consumers," says Current Analysis analyst Toni Duboise. "AMD has done something that it hasn't done in a number of years."
