Christine, -- "random chance" tinged with "luck". I've always felt that there was a "luck" factor. When you're hot you're hot......

Of course, for the creeps that prey on poor unfortunate victims, and get away with it for 90 years, luck seems to be on their side. And then they die, and in a last moment of repentance they go to their "just" rewards.

I hate to see injustices. When you brought up the subject of injustice to the Pre-Catholic Irish and their heritage, it caught my attention. It really is a sad story. I'm glad to hear that some of the old customs are coming back.

You mentioned "tree gods" and many goddesses. Were the Pagan beliefs based on what we know as Mythology, or did they have a completely different set of Deities?

The Pagan revival in Ireland is similar to a movement that is going on in this country. There is a huge movement towards "private" angels, or Gods. Everyone has their own one. The Angel shops are doing a booming business.
