I was not following along the entire context of the initiating exchanges, and, going back, seem to be missing some of the context. Nevertheless, it is true that jttmab seemed to be accusing Laura of manslaughter, and implying that it was only the benighted Texas justice system that kept here from being charged. I have looked over accounts of the accident, and none is helpful in providing the full context of the decision not to charge her. Certainly, the fact that she was a minor weighed in heavily, however, and there does seem something low in jttmab's comments.
JLA appears to have lost his temper. I think he loses it too easily, but we have agreed to disagree on this score on various occasions in the past, and usually, if we have such a conflict, we take it to PM. (Incidentally, he sometimes chides me for putting up with too much). I have been honestly trying to explain what I thought he was up to. Since I have not been condemning him, while admitting he left himself open to attack, I have responded mildly to his comments. I do not think I have been high- fiving. I have been trying to remain friendly in my comments all around, taking the position that this was a misunderstanding and a tempest in a teapot.......... |
