And the more thoughtful people who watched it several times say that the quality is poor so it's hard to see things, which I tend to agree with, having looked at some stills. The colors are compressed so much that blood would look black.

I only watched it once, but you're correct. The quality was very poor, details were blurry and there was a lot of blending of colors or what I call run-ons.

FWIW, it is interesting that no one has mentioned that Nick Berg was the only person in that video without a hood. I believe in Western societies it is usually the other way around.
