True, war is chaos. Utter chaos. And anyone who expects clinical good judgment from 20 year olds is crazy. There will be things going wrong, but to wail about how evil we are, etc., is simply stupid. And that is what my beef with Massey is.
We are much too hard on ourselves, we expect that everything we will do, we will do perfectly, and if not, someone must be blamed. This is utter horse manure. Massey I think is a sensitive guy who was probably misplaced in the Marines.
I do object, however, to Massey's sense of drama, which has clearly increased as he has gotten an audience, i.e., the cars don't get warning volleys anymore, they just get shot up without a thought; we teach our soldiers to kill kids after we lure them with candy.
