Intel Shareholders Want Options Expensed Wednesday May 19, 2:19 pm ET SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Reuters) - Shareholders of Intel Corp., (NasdaqNM:INTC - News) the world's largest microchip maker, on Wednesday approved a proposal urging the company's board to treat employee stock options as a business expense. The shareholder vote, at the company's annual meeting, flew in the face of the strongly-held view by Intel senior management that expensing option costs would be bad for the company and for the high-tech industry as a whole.
