Nobody questions - at least I don't believe they do - that Mexican-American politicians look at Mexican-American politics differently than many, maybe most Anglos.

Catholic Irish-American politicians feel very differently about the IRA than Protestants. Nobody bats an eye at this.

So if a Jewish-American politician carries water for Israel, or even Sharon, why can't we say that?

I mean, to me, it's so obvious it's not even worth commenting on.

And maybe it's better not to comment, anyway, because it can get distorted.

But I've never hesitated to comment on Christian involvement in politics.
