Stunning. That is an increase of almost 8% over the projected budget for FY2004. The proposed budget for FY2004 was $2.229 Trillion. Of course, with typical mismanagement, the Bush administration is now going to spend $2.295 Trillion - but what is another $66 Billion among friends?

BTW, the current forecast for the FY2004 deficit (end Sept, 2004) is $639 Billion. Another record.
