Kerry first said he would make order a 50% increase in CAFE standards. Currently he says 36mpg would be a good goal. (Flop) Kerry is trying to walk the line between the environmental crowd and the Detroit unions.

GWB is advocating fuel cells as the long term solution. The environmentalists and the UAW know where he stands.

They both see the need to improve mileage.

There are other answers to this issue which no one in Washington is willing to address. So, we will see a continuation of what are seeing with some incremental improvement. The "taxpayers" will pay, as they always do. This is why I ordered a hybrid.
