One might compare the politics , language and religions of italy ,france and greece to those of germany ,england and scandanavia.for example why are the more sucessfull democracies also non catholic and non latin based cultures? here in italy its possible to talk for an hour with out ever getting to the point. and making non committing commitments is an artform. in latin languages there are 6 verb tenses and unlimited modes of apparently saying one thing while meaning something totally different.in religion here there is a saint always ready to interceed on ones behalf for the right offering,as in politics and finance,read rampant corruption that is considered the normal way of things.
