Klein says Kerry's answer to the pull-out-now crowd will be "the most important decision Kerry makes in this campaign, but it won't be coming soon — and that is very much by design.... If nothing else, Kerry has a sophisticated sense of political timing; he knows how to wait until people are paying attention."

Comment: I suspect that it's as simple as this: Kerry is just waiting to see what happens next before he takes a position. Maybe not quite "finger in the wind", but waiting for events to unfold. He doesn't want to look as foolish as Gore did for having endorsed Dean too soon.

Now some may see this as smart.

Others can, and will, see it as a lack of leadership ability.

I'm in the latter camp.
