Philosophically speaking think of where the price of solar and the price of crude oil would be today if the Republicans had spent the money they spent on the Iraq war on getting the nation self sufficient in energy instead.

Crude oil would probably be under $20 per barrel. The air would be a lot cleaner and the people throughout the land could give themselves a well deserved pat on the back for being so clever. I would really love to tell the the OPEC cartel to keep their oil, we don't need it anymore, thanks very much. The worst of this dream scenario is that it is possible!
