I probably read the front page of the NYTimes online every day, skip the editorials unless people are talking about them, never read Dowd (she gives me the pip), and always read the food section.
But the NYTimes is for you [and JohnM?] kinda like the WashPost for me and Kholt, it's your home town, no? The paper guy throws it in the driveway early in the morning, you get it in your bathrobe, and throw it on the breakfast table. Other people, they need to go out of their way to get it.
So the weekend section has all the good ads for the good sales and the new restaurants and the movies and so forth. The really good crossword puzzle. You can lie in bed and read the whole thing and relax. It just isn't that good for me, I prefer the Sunday WashPost for the same reason, all the good ads.
I let the WashPost stack up all week, and on the weekend I'll read, not just the Sunday paper, but the Wednesday food section, the Thursday home section, the Friday movie reviews, and all week's style section. They do a great style section, if you like that sort of thing. Lots of great gossip, human interest, four pages of cartoons every day! (or is it three?) and two entire sections of cartoons on Sunday.
When the NYTimes and the WashPost really dig deep into something, they do a great job.
I agree, just filter the bias. |
