Ram: If a tool is mainframe, PC, or UNIX based, it should still be able to perform the relevant functions of finding date sensitive code and correcting it.

However, when I was recommending solutions to clients, I always leaned towards the mainframe tools. There's less risk of incompatibilities caused by environmental constraints.

I guess it's kinda' like folks going out and buying a car. Some will buy Fords, some Chevys, and some Buicks. Still others will go for the imports (like me). Personal preference dictates much of that decision. It is my personal preference to work with mainframe based tools.
