Conservatives Respond Again to Liberal Attacks
Internet-based rebuttals launched on party website

OTTAWA - It seems the Chrétien-Martin Liberal gang has fired up their advertising machine. It's pretty predictable stuff, especially given that high-ranking Liberals said, weeks ago, that their first and only strategy for the coming election campaign was to "demonize" Stephen Harper.

We'll take a short pause from talking about policy choices, and respond. And it didn't take Earnscliffe focus groups and a highly paid consortium of Liberal advertising executives to come up with it - a few of our technical staff did a fine job. So today we introduce our internet-based ad campaign. It's our way of saying, "Anything you can do, we can do cheaper (from attack push-back, to running government)."

The Liberals have Conservative quotations. We have Liberal quotations. We won't bother to spend millions and clutter the television airwaves with the stuff we've dug up. When we say "Demand Better," that's what we mean - Canadians are demanding better than US-style attack ads that offer nothing substantive to the public debate.

And if this is the type of campaign that Liberals want to run, then it speaks volumes about what they really have to offer Canadians.
