"Testing." You don't like that "dirty word," do ya, John? When the average kid gets out of that HS playpen he spends four years in, and deals with the real world, he gets tested all the time. All private industry courses start and end with testing. So does the Military courses.

I posted an article yesterday about a Major Wall Street financial firm that hires all majors. They want to see your SAT scores, and you need a high math score to impress them. They have found that the people with high math scores do well for them, and their grades are not really important. The "grade inflation" in College is obvious to them.

The Philosophy behind the Education system is to worry more about Jill and Johnny's self esteem than what he has learned. So testing is a bad word.
