Learning to appreciate...Shakespeare's plays or Tolstoy's ...Mahler's symphonies

I like them to be able to read, write, and calculate at grade level first, John. When they can't do that, it's worthless to worry about what they know about those "dead white men," that our educators don't like anyway.

Writing essays? These kids? Your average HS Grad is lost. Ask his Freshman college Prof.
