What lesson did the French earn? Algiers was during the 60's.

I'll agree though, that thousands of French soldiers died, so that the British were able to evacuate Europe - and carry on the fight. But without the Americans, I doubt that Hitler could have been defeated.

I've spoken to an West African about the French, to hear him talk about it, much of West Africa, are still colonies.
