Tech Master: My impression of the Compuware alliance is that ALYD will be used for the non-MVS portion of the contracts. CPWR already has their own mainframe based solution and wouldn't need or use ALYD's SmartCode. The Billion additional lines estimate comes from the additional contracts that CPWR will get because they can support the non-MVS (aka "weirdo") environments. Without that support, CPWR would be in a cat fight with other vendors vying for the same contracts.

Now, if all of a sudden CPWR decides that SmartCode is a better remediation tool than what CPWR has spent years developing ... now, that would definitely make a statement about ALYD's tool.

Incidentally, I own several thousand shares of ALYD, and wish I had followed my own recommendation a year ago on buying CPWR.
