Exactly. If the problem is the 1-2% of sadists that have managed to get themselves into the US military, then we had better screen them better, and get rid of the bad ones - so the other 98% that are doing good jobs are not all tainted.

Soldiers, police, priests - we now know all have the bad element - and it's more than a couple. It's hundreds. Of each.

I think we must all speak out about this, and denounce it - even if it alienates some long time friends and associates. So be it.

We are supposed to stand for the good, for freedom. This tarnishes the entire US image around the world.

I heard today on the radio - the Red Cross said they could not believe the prison was being run by a Democracy, a major power - the US. More like some renegade power.

This is what we have to stop. Speak out against it, or become part of the excuse machine, part of the coverup.

A Nick Berg, or 3-4 contractors being hung in the street doesn't change what we did. Of course these were heinous acts - and wrong! But we are held to a higher standard as the purported fountain of freedom over there.

I think it's high time we lived up to our own ideals. That's what I want to see...
