Andy Bryant should have said Intel didn't wish to put its EPS in an unfavorable light .. when compared to other companies that don't expense .. and that it would expense when the FASB requires all companies to expense.

That would have been more credible, but Craig Barrett wouldn't have liked that response. :-)
