these soldiers, not all - but the ones that did this - are dishonorable, sadistic bastards

These soldiers are not an aberration, they are a reflection of their society and their leaders. I hope we don't try to segregate these soldiers from the rest of us, instead of taking responsibility as a society for what is happening. This is fundamentally what we did during Viet Nam, only it took much longer. It appears that Iraq is happening at hyper-speed.
