The Talionic Law has been rejected in the West. Nevertheless, people still practice it when they can get away with it. There's something so deeply satisfying about revenge that hurting the brother or son of your enemy can feel almost as good as hurting your enemy.

I think that if you believe taking Talionic revenge on third parties will stop violence, you have lost your mind, and are in danger of losing your soul.
