[Orckit and Ascend]

<<<Should I assume support of the "Issue II" issue will result in a license? >>>

Ordinarily I would say, no way will Orckit ever consent to license, but looking at the wording of the Fujitsu release --- and knowing how particular the Europeans are regarding standards --- I'm not quite so sure they'll fight it.

<<<The challenge is to get the carriers to quickly deploy and tariff DSL services.>>>

I imagine this will be a central topic over the next few days at the ISP conference. I'll be taking copious notes. And working on my courage so I can ask a few questions.

BTW, on the BA/NYNEX Internet plans with IBM, how will this affect BA's CAP slant? Aren't all those Bells they named part of the JPC, and aren't they all using DMT? Perhaps at the Global Internet level they don't have anything to say about line codes.

Always curious.

Cheers!

Pat
