Actually, fully loaded pc's with bloatware are not that cheap. The costs and efforts to keep pc's updated, people trained and machines running is quite expensive compared to smart terminals, which is what Net PC's really are. The proverbial "total cost of ownership" is much higher than the price of the PC.

In other areas, there has certainly been a lot of FUD and misunderstanding on this board the last couple days. Corel has been hinting at building component software instead of full suite software for quite a while now. The Remagen software is a "bridge" technology that allows NC's to play in the PC arena using full existing suites until component task oriented software designed for NC's shows up.

Most of the work they have already done in Java will be used in the new components. They are expanding their efforts there. The Remagen and Java software are complimentary, not at odds with each other. It brings the existing suite software close to Java, while the Java software is turned into something that is actually useful.
