E. there is some interesting studies on that aspect of addiction, both physically and psychologically.

Doctors, using unclaimed bodies of winos to determine physical deterioration of the brain discovered some very interesting chemicals in the brain that is normally not there in most brain studies. They found that the compound found in the alcoholic wino's brains was morphine. Puzzled, further testing indicated that an addict's brain converts alcohol into morphine, creating both the psychological and physical addiction that seems to occur in 12% of all of us. I believe that the addiction prone person takes a drink, a drug or anything addictive and goes "WOW" while a normal person takes it and says "ho, hum" I can take it or leave it.

I have lived it and studied it for a great deal of my life and it is only a deep spiritual experience that can help any true addict. Humiliation begets humility and a spiritual awakening in a few of us folks gives us the chance to step out of the circle of addiction but better than 7 out of 10 fight it to the death. Addiction is a monster disease and the only cure is life long abstinence.

I hope that you were not affected to the degree that many of us were. It's a living hell.

James
