Only 37 deaths? We had over 40k prisoners in Iraq and unknown thousands elsewhere.

Sounds like a safer place than being a civilian considering there would be some added stress as a prisoner and perhaps some changes in medication.

Of course prisoners dont get exposed to traffic accidents, fires, shooting, robbery, falling down stairs, or work related injuries.

I would like to know a doctors opinion about this, as it certainly seems that not many are dying in prison and that generally the care of prisoners seems adequate.

Does not excuse the terrible treatment of some, but may indicate that it was mostly the bad apples and lack of direction causing the problems.
