Ish, As I remember, he got them running, and then sold them without doing any cosmetic repairs. He kept, and used the farm equipment. In 1997, he had moved into the small town of Stockton, KS, and had bought a small warehouse to store all the stuff he got at auctions, and cleaning out barns, etc. Everyone from several counties around, knew about the place, and would constantly come around looking for something they needed.
He was my uncle, by marriage. his wife was my Mother's youngest sister. He was a flight engineer on a B-17 flying missions across the channel in WW2. He did a great part of the work making a man out on a snot nosed kid, like I was. He and my Aunt, were killed in a head-on collision in NM returning from an RV meeting place in AZ, in February of 97. Their death hit me hard, and I still think of them as I knew them while following the wheat harvest with them from Texas to Nebraska. |
