This is similar to the deal about the dead contractors in Fallujah who were derided as "mercenaries" to make it look more like they had it coming. There is a persistent effort to redefine English words in the service of the enemies of the US effort.

So what were those "contractors" in Fallujah, Nadine? Were they paid soldiers? Who is "redefining English words"? When it was described what their role was, they sounded like mercenaries to me...
